About Richard

I just retired in June from teaching science at Madison High School in Vienna. I taught honors biology, geosystems, oceanography and AP environmental science. I was at Madison for 20 years and was a 4-time finalist for the school's teacher of the year award. Before that, I was in the environmental consulting industry. I bring real-world experience to my time with students, because it's important that you can relate to the subject. And I like to have some fun along the way. One more thing - just because you're struggling in a subject doesn't mean that you're dumb. Maybe you're not interested, maybe you aren't connecting with the teacher, maybe you're right on the edge of "getting it" but don't realize it. You can do this!
