Hi! My name is Rebecca, my experience in caring for special needs individuals vary! I was a Lead Teacher in a local daycare where I interacted with many children daily. Some with special needs, learning disabilities and sensory issues. I have a certification in Supporting Children with Developmental Disabilities in Child Care Programs which was issued by SmartHorisons and The Promise Resource Center in 2019, with the core of knowledge being, Special Needs. I learned how important it was to let the child grow at their own pace, figure out what works for them while also teaching them and being there for them and providing a special connection and level of trust. I'm passionate about what I do because I feel as children should not be looked at as being "different". In my eyes all children are special and one of the biggest blessings. I learned from an early age what "special needs" was with a close family member being diagnosed at birth, which I grew up babysitting!
