About Rebecca

Hello! My name is Rebecca. :)) -I've been a Certified Teacher for 20 years in one Elementary School in CT-grades 4 and 1. -I began my career in Education at age 21 working as a Special Education Paraprofessional-I worked with children with specific emotional and learning needs-1 to 1 for 4 years -Since teaching and working only 185 days a year (including holidays and summers off), it allowed me to become: ~a Private Tutor for numerous families for 10 years (ages 6-14) ~a Pet & House Sitter for 5 years (animals are my other children and I treat your home as if it were my own) ~a perennial flower gardener (pinks and purples are my favs) ~an organic vegetable gardener (I made tomato sauce and pesto this summer) ~a poultry connoisseur (my chickens all have names and I love them & their eggs!) *Important for you to know: I was an volunteer EMT on my town's fire department. As a Foster Parent, I successfully did the Heimlich Manuever on my 5-year-old foster son and saved his life.
