About Rae

I took care of my mom through the DORS program, State of Illinois, on and off for a few years who became almost bedridden from arthritis in her last years. I cleaned, cooked, shopped, took her to appts or wherever she needed to go. I assisted her with meds, taking her blood sugar readings, etc, as well as just being company to her. I also have experience as a respite care worker providing relief to caregivers of mentally challenged individuals both young and aged. I provide a variety of types of assistance ranging from sitting with them to taking them into the community for socialization, giving meds, giving showers, assistance with dressing, brushing teeth, toileting, other personal care, cooking, assistance with meals, cleaning, laundry, as well as just being company. I have come to love this job and my people even though this is not in the field of work I've been in most of my life.
