I am a mother of four children, all adults now. I have 28 years of experience caring for children in preschool/daycare settings, as well as providing home daycare for several children that became like family to us over the years. I have always loved working with children, especially in a teaching capacity. Watching kids learn is such a rewarding experience for me and I chose to home school my children through elementary school for that reason. I love encouraging children to enjoy nature, physical activity, learning and the arts. I have a love for reading and storytelling that I hope inspires children to use their imagination and want to explore the world around them.

Mrs. H. is a true caring professional. She quickly builds an excellent repertoire with families and earns the clients trust immediately. She has a very easy going attitude and is a great communicator. When she worked for me at the YWCA, she assisted me in grant-writing and I was very pleased to find out she was a top-ranked student at a private high school. She was rarely absent and always on top of her class responsibilities, any outside projects I assigned, and she glowed under pressure. She was a great asset to me in regards to State Licensure and always maintaining her records and when asked, reviewing any files and correcting any issues, which were few. She is task-oriented. I know Mrs. H. Home-schooled her own children, cared for others children in her home, and lastly had a position with an elderly woman in her home. The client's son, who had called me for a reference at the onset of the job, contacted me again to give a raving review of Mrs. H. and to ask me that if I ever heard of Mrs. Relocating back to Indiana, to please contact him and they would find a position for her she had become family. She went "above and beyond" he said. She always did. As our time working together grew, I found Mrs. H. had many excellent qualities as an employee. She is trustworthy, exemplary, a team player, a mediator, problem solver, educator, and a beloved teacher and caregiver. She has all the characteristics of a a good person; she is loyal, trustworthy, kind, considerate, funny, caring, empathetic, nurturing, patient and so much more. The two qualities in her that is difficult to find in most people these days that I feel is important enough to point out is that she is genuine and authentic. I went to on to get a Master's degree in Family Therapy and this is something I feel is important to point out. By genuine I mean she is her true self at all times and does not use a front or ruse for any reason. She is honest and is you ask her to she will be honest she will be. She will genuinely listen and care about other people. That draws other people to her and makes her very like-able, which is a wonderful asset on all fronts. Then she authentic. She is the real deal. When a person refers to another and says "she's to good to be true", this is that person. There is nothing made-up about her. She is real, which I have had the pleasure to reassure people that "yes, she is." As I said before, she is loyal, and that's part of her authenticity. Over our years of working together she met many people who saw this about her and offered her better, more lucrative positions. She turned them down. When I urged her to reconsider for the good benefits or better health insurance she asked me if she has done something wrong. I told her she did not. She said something I will never forget. She said she didn't do her job for the money or perks. She said she loved her job, her coworkers, the kids and the parents. She said she didn't want to go anywhere else to perform her job if she didn't have to. She loved coming to work. That was the important thing to her. That's an authentic person. Of course we had our trials and tribulations, but really not that many. I had awesome staff. That was part of my joy in going to work everyday. I still attempt to hire her now and then, and to get an update on her world. I know whomever she works realizes what a fantastic they have got there!
