About Rachel

I come from a close family with lots of kids. I learned how to change diapers, make bottles, feed and engage kids at a fairly young age. I spent my summers watching 4 of my younger cousins and babysat for family friends. In high school, I spent my free time coaching K-8th graders in swimming, basketball, softball, and babysitting. When I went to college, I missed being around kids, so I began volunteering with high school kids through Young Life, which I still continue to do. I graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelors in Psychology and took a job work with adolescent trauma survivors at a residential treatment center. After spending a few years there, I knew I needed a change and began working with adults with disabilities. Recently, I took a job as a Behavior therapist working with kids ages 2-12 who have AD/HD and/or autism. I am certified in infant, child, and adult CPR. My experience is varied and I'm competently able to care for children of all ages and abilities.
