About Rachel

When the opportunity opened up in California, I have been involved in cooking balanced meals for two environmental lawyers and their family. I took that position and moved to California. I enjoyed working for this family for three years as their private chef. I also helped with transportation to and from activities and appointments for their 15-year-old daughter and their sweet little puppy. During my stay in California, I landed a separate job as a chef intern in a restaurant kitchen where I continued to grow my culinary skills. I simultaneously worked as an in-home caregiver. Both my clients lived alone but had very debilitating disorders that had severely attacked their motor skills. Both had very little independent movement and required substantial assistance with all their daily tasks and nightly health procedures. Despite of the hectic schedule, I was able to continue my schooling and occasionally take on side jobs including animal care. Before California, I spent many years caring for children of all ages including a year as an associate with Expert Care. I love working with children! I have much training in various areas including CPR, First Aid, seizure, bowel and incontinence care, medication, tube feeding, and much more. I can create a fun and safe atmosphere where learning is encouraged through exploration and creativity. I am extremely skilled in offering quality care and am confident in my abilities to work with the hardest of cases. I am very responsible, compassionate, and positive in nature.
