About Rachel

Hello! With over a decade of teaching in classroom settings, the opportunity to work with students one-on-one and in small groups is a dream! I believe a child's self-esteem is directly linked to their ability to be successful in academics. I always start here. I have a Masters degree in Teaching with specialization in early childhood and elementary education from George Fox University. I was a classroom teacher for six and half years at Tucker Maxon School where I taught children with diverse learning needs. I then accepted a position as the Education Manager at the Oregon Humane Society and lead K-12 programs. I am dependable, easy to work with and flexible in my approach. I sincerely believe in tailoring instruction to meet each child's needs, just as teaching best practices warrant. I can teach various subject matters, offer in-home support for home schooling and work in partnership with others to ensure your child benefits the most during our time together.
