I am the second born of nine children, but I am the first born daughter, needless to say I had lots of hands on experience growing up. I was my mother's biggest helper, and built in babysitter. When I turned 13 I started babysitting for our neighbors across the street who have two daughters, their oldest was 2 months old at the time. I was their babysitter for four years, and to this day their girls still play with my youngest siblings. When I tuned 17 I started working at a salon as a receptionist, I was there for two years and through that experience I found out that I enjoyed working with kids more. At the age of 19 I became a nanny for a family with three girls, the oldest was a year old and the twins were 3 months old at the time. I did light house cleaning for them and prepared whatever meals the girls needed. I took the girls to and from doctor appointments (the mom or dad met me there), preschool, and soccer practice at the YMCA. I was also able to take them to the zoo, different parks and libraries, and even out to my house to swim as they didn't have a pool. We played dress-up, baked treats, made forts, read books, rode bikes, played out in the sprinkler, colored pictures, made crafts, and our favorite thing to do was movie day where we snuggled in our pajamas on the couch watching our favorite movies and shows, and eating our favorite foods for lunch on the living room floor picnic style. I was their nanny for six and a half years, and I loved almost every moment of it. When they were old enough to go to school full time I was no longer needed. My last day with them was bitter-sweet, bitter because I knew I wouldn't be coming back, and sweet because that night I worked my first shift in the playroom at a Gym. I worked there for three and a half years, after the first year had passed I was promoted to the manager position in the the playroom. At the gym we took care of quite a few kids at one time, their ages ran anywhere from six weeks to 13 years. We played card games, the Wii, colored, watch movies, and fed snacks. Although I loved working there, the hours and pay where not enough, so I looked for a new family to fit into and I found a family on care. com. I have been working for them about a year and a half, but my hours have been cut nearly in half and so I begin the search again... you might just be the family I'm looking for!
