About Rachael

From 2012 - 2017, I volunteered at an elementary school as a tutor for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders. I am highly interested in montessori learning, and would love to apply that philosophy when teaching younger children. Additionally, I have some informal experience tutoring high schoolers. I have a younger sister, and I was highly involved in her college application process. I helped her study for the AP English and history exams, along with the ACT (I actually got a perfect score on the ACT when I took it myself). Later, I helped her outline, draft, and edit her college admissions essays. She's now a computer science major at University of California, Berkeley, one of the top schools in the nation for her major. Although I am currently a molecular biology major, my original major was film history, so I have experience with academic writing and literature analysis and am qualified to tutor most high school subjects.
