About Rachael

After serving as a teaching assistant (TA) for four years at Aim High St. Louis, an academic enrichment program for underserved middle schoolers in the St. Louis area, I realized my skill and passion of teaching, and more specifically, tutoring one-on-one or in small groups. Since, I have served as a TA for a 200-level computer science class called Computing for Scientists and volunteered at Upward Bound in Miami. I love connecting with my students and motivating them to strive for success. I have strong communication skills, a positive, personable demeanor, and an ability to teach by breaking down ideas or using real-life examples. I am good at problem-solving and am flexible, both with my schedule and with catering to different learning styles. My academic strengths are in math and science, especially biology, psychology, and organic chemistry.
