About Nina

I am a fun-loving energetic mother of three, the youngest of whom is entering his senior year in high school. I have over 10 years of experience educating children other than my own. I have provisional teaching certification in middle school language arts, reading and special education. I am able to meet students where they are and help them to achieve goals consistent with their potential. I have the ability to make most subject areas relevant so that a student is not solely learning in a vacuum but is also able to use the information in context of the world in which they are growing up. I have a passion for children in general and it truly brings me joy to "see" the wheels turning in their heads after I've presented material, either from a book or simply life. It brings me greater joy when they are able to apply what they have learned.
