About Nicolette

Hello there! My name is Aimelia. I am a nanny with 10+ years experience, and I specialize in Type 1 Diabetes care and management, as well as asthma care, and I am open to learning to care for other special needs. I also have experience working with large families, and ages 6 weeks to 15 years. I am 28 years old, California born and raised, moved to Michigan in the summer of 2014 and I plan on pursuing my nursing degree. I have an extensive background working with children of various ages, as I began part time nannying at age 16 and teaching preschool at age 18. But I believe my most valuable experience comes from being a mother myself. Children have always been a passion of mine. While I love teaching, working with a family is definitely my favorite environment. My desire to acquire my nursing degree comes from my lifelong fascination with all things medical, my heart to help others, and my goal of wanting to make a difference in the pediatric endocrinology world. My son was diagnosed with a chronic, life threatening autoimmune condition at age 3, and being thrown into that world overnight was very overwhelming. I believe having the right medical support to help guide parents in any situation like that can make all the difference in the world, and I want to be part of that. My time is very flexible, and I have my own reliable vehicle that can fit three passengers in the back seat and one appropriately aged passenger in the front. I have a perfect driving record, multiple excellent references, including a letter of recommendation from my most recent nannying position with a family of 7 children, which ended with the school year on 6/12/15 . I am comfortable with and will pass a background check with flying colors. I prefer to work Monday through Friday, but I potentially have the open availability and flexibility to extend any childcare needs (i. e., evenings, weekends, etc) as well, should the opportunity present itself. I know the search for childcare can be a little daunting. It's really about finding the right fit for your family. Perhaps that fit is me!
