Experience caring for seniors, including post-surgery. Seniors are fascinating people with interesting histories I enjoy . I am loving and positive. As a former high school teacher, I really enjoy making fun, stimulating activities tailored to a person's interests/needs that help encourage and maintain self-sufficiency, and the best possible /physical health. Each person is so unique. I believe in engaging all senses. Activities a person was good/ better at in the past can still be enjoyed and provide a sense of pride, though accommodations may be needed. It can be as simple as creating a character chart for a book being read. Sample activities: singing, telling life story/favorite memories and I/create booklet, gentle exercise, being in nature, learning a new game or skill, and good old hanging out... Great references.
