Morgan took a part time job watching my 2 year old for the summer and it was supposed to extend to as needed when she starts college. She said she had experience managing 4 children at once, loved being active with them etc. I took a chance on her despite her young age due to that experience and I shouldn't have. She did 5 shadowing shifts with my outgoing nanny (moved out of town) so she could see what the job required and so my son could get used to her. So she knew exactly what she was getting into. Not even halfway through the month she told me she didn't want to work for me anymore because "other jobs pay better and are less work". I paid her listed rate and she was well aware of how much work the job was. She left me completely scrambling to get coverage for her already setup times with me!! Absolutely would NOT hire. She also spent considerable time on her phone during the shadowing shifts per my nanny and I got the sullen teenager vibe off of her but I was in a bind. If she gets the chance to do less or make more she won't hesitate to do 'what's best for her' no matter that she has made a commitment.
