About Monique

I have always adored children being a big kid myself and started babysitting when I was 12. That led to being a child swim instructor and lifeguard in high school and college. I also was a sailing camp counselor... grew up sailing, I worked in a pediatrician's office in high school and as a youth counselor in college. When I went to nursing school, I thought I would be a pediatric nurse. However, I found it very emotionally trying especially after losing a child to cancer. I pursued my career in adult critical care nursing which I have enjoyed and have been rewarded beyond what I give for the past 30 years. I have to say being a mother has been the most ultimate reward and I had the blessing to stay home with a flexible work schedule as a nurse. My sons are now in college and I pray for grandchildren one day. In the meantime, I miss working with kids.. all ages. I thought this would be a great fit until, hopefully, I have grandchildren of my own.
