About Merida

Throughout high school and college I have worked with children either as a nanny, babysitter or as a camp counselor. More recently, I worked for a family with two children for two and a half years as a full time nanny. The connection to this family lead to a position as a preschool teacher where I worked for a year and a half. In my spare time I am an avid knitter, reader, cook and I enjoy being active through running and hula hooping. Working with children is so rewarding to me. I love the way they learn, play and experience the world. My philosophy with children is to use supportive language, follow their interests and needs when it comes to activities and to be sympathetic and respectful. I am patient and caring, direct and honest and am no nonsense about safety and treating others with kindness. I believe I could be a positive attribute to any family because I genuinely want to help out.
