About 7 years ago I got started working with children with special needs. I was the regular babysitter for a family that had a child with Down Syndrome. This instilled a passion in me to continue this work. Throughout my college experience, I worked for College Nannies and Tutors in San Diego. My job title for this company was a respite caretaker. During these years, I had the incredible opportunity to work with and care for multiple children with a variety of special needs. The majority of the children I worked with were diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. At the University of San Diego I studied behavioral neuroscience and strengthened my understanding of disorders that impact development, behavior, and function.
