About Melanie

- BOOKED FOR FALL 2020 - Hi! My name is Melanie I just graduated from the University of Maryland, with a degree in Special Education. I am a certified teacher in special education (birth to 21) and K through six general education. I've taught in many different classrooms from kindergarten age to high school, but my year long student teaching internship was in a middle school so ages 11 to 14 are my soft spot! I've been babysitting since I was 14, and have worked with children my whole life so I hope I can be the right fit for your family! I love being around kid's energy, but I'm most passionate about helping them become great people as they grow up, which led me to a career in education. I have a lot of experience with children who have mild, moderate, and severe disabilities so I feel very comfortable working with all kids! I love singing and playing guitar if your children like that too. I'm also happy to help with homework/tutoring, pet care, and basic cooking and cleaning.
