About Maura

I am a certified elementary school/special education teacher from grades 1 to 6. I currently a tenured teacher for NYC DOE and have been teaching for the past 9 years. I am currently teaching in the 4th grade in a inclusion classroom as the special education teacher, but work with both the general and special education students in this setting. Prior to this grade I was a 5th grade teacher in a inclusion classroom where I worked with both general education and special education students. I completed my Masters for Literacy (Birth to Sixth). I have experience in tutoring students in the upper elementary school levels which included students with learning disabilities. I do have experience with the lower elementary students as well in tutoring. I have experience with students outside the classroom such as coaching, private pitching lessons, and babysitting. In the summers I teach a summer school program in the mornings and have experience with multiple grade levels.
