About Mary

I worked as a nurses' aide in my teens and attended Nursing home for a year and have a Master's Degree in mental health counseling. I have been retired for 10 years. I visited my mother every day for four years in a nursing home after she had a series of strokes and needed full time care and I brought her home on the weekends and took her out in her wheelchair and did all the personal care and I liked to read to her. I visited my elderly cousin every Saturday for eight years and provided personal care and took her out shopping, etc. and managed her finances. When I was a teenager I gave my grandmother her diabetes shots every morning. I had many senior citizens during my 33 years as a counselor. I took classes in gerontology when I was in college. I enjoy reading, poetry, calligraphy, and making collages and swimming.
