About Marissa

I have worked with kids for years. I was a student teacher in high school, and I loved working one on one with children. I worked with children in speech therapy. I found this experience to be very rewarding, watching these children learn how to do so many different skills. I then also worked with children in a typical classroom. In the classroom I would assist the teacher, help with teaching; I also had two students that I would tutor because the teacher did not have the time to sit down with them and give them the extra time they needed to learn. There were frustrating days, but I loved every second. It was worth it to me to get to watch the students understand the material. I also was a teacher's assistant in the life skills room which included helping children with special needs. This was a very new experience for me, something I think that all high school students should go though.
