I believe the most important quality in this field is to feel empathy for your clients and provide heartfelt concern for their individual welfare. For the last couple years, I have enjoyed working with a variety of older women and men with unfortunately an even bigger variety of illnesses or disabilities. These have included diabetes, lupus, fibremyalgia, dementia, and paralization. I've administered shots, ensured daily hygiene, bathed, prepared food according to dietary needs, maintained a clean and safe environment, helped transfer when not ambulatory, etc. To me, it is the most fulfilling feeling to know you put all your efforts into helping someone.
