Words cannot describe how extraordinary Mariela is as a sitter for a person who is neurodivergent. For the past eight years, Mariela has been an exceptional, dedicated, and compassionate babysitter for my younger brother. Mariela has consistently exhibited an unparalleled level of empathy, patience, and sensitivity towards my brother, while being mindful of his diverse needs. Mariela has shown an immense commitment to providing an inclusive and safe environment, which is commendable. Mariela has demonstrated her ability to accommodate and adapt to my brother’s preferences. She has taken to the time to understand his individual personality, interests, and routines, ensuring that he is comfortable. Additionally, Mariela has demonstrated to have remarkable problem-solving abilities when faced with challenging situations when it comes to a neurodivergent person. She has always remained composed, compassionate, and calm while thinking quickly to remedy any situation that might have caused my brother any discomfort. She has also personalized and tailored her approach to different situations to meet the different needs of my brother. Mariela’s genuine dedication, extensive knowledge, and passion towards children always made me feel at ease when she was left in care of my brother. What make her an exception sitter was her composure, her openness, and her innate ability to feel everyone around her at ease. Most importantly, she always ensured that my brother’s wellbeing, happiness, and safety was a top priority for her.
