Hi parents, so I have been a full time babysitter for more than 12 years in New York City. I am very committed to making changes in kids lives. I am very respectful with each family's way of raising their kids so communication and respect with both the parents and children is key. I have learned that separation anxiety its a matter of lots of patience, love, respect and time. Potty training is a big challenge for everyone. Having someone who knows how to read the signs when a kid is ready to start the process makes all the difference in the world. I have trained so many kids now. Introducing new food, in a fun way helps them a lot to be interested and finally taking the leap to try. I have lots of experience and success helping kids eat better and managing allergies of all kinds. I am a very energetic and loving woman, I like to transmit happiness and love to my kids, so the day is always fun when they are with me. And last but no least I am bilingual (english/ Spanish)

Maria worked for me for 3.5 years (since my daughter was 4-months old) and for my friend/neighbor for 1.5 years. She has over 10 years of nanny experience in Forest Hills, Astoria, and Manhattan. She is compassionate, full of energy, highly responsible, and an absolute pleasure to have in our homes. She is a dream to work with as a parent—she cares about child development and raising kids to be good, empathetic, responsible humans. She sets up play dates, encourages social development, and at the core, truly loves our kids like her own. We always feel they are in safe hands with her. Maria has helped my daughter through food allergies, potty training, sleep issues, and so much more. She started with my friend's son when he was a toddler and had never had a sitter before due to COVID; he gave her a very hard time, as he had never been separated from mom before. Maria remained consistent, full of love and energy, despite his bouts of separation anxiety and initial resistance. She worked with the parents on how to ease the transition more smoothly; she never judged them nor became frustrated with him. She has coached both of our families through major developmental milestones and become an extension of our families. In addition to being bilingual (Spanish/English), Maria is also a portrait photographer, so her photo updates throughout the day are a nice bonus! She has experience commuting with children via subway and taxi, if that is needed. She has been invaluable to our families.
