About Marcia

I have been a nurse for many years and have liked it very much. But I also LOVE animals and would like to work part time taking care of them. I used to volunteer at a local animal shelter (Buddy Dog) where I mostly walked the dogs and helped socialize them, and I loved doing that. I also helped start a cat rescue group in Marlboro, (CaRMaH) and rescued and adopted out hundreds of cats. I have done a lot of fostering and socializing of feral kittens and cats, as well as being a caretaker for colonies of feral cats. I had 6 cats of my own and one wonderful dog. I've pet sat for friends' animals but didn't do it as a job before this. I love playing with both dogs and cats. And I love taking dogs on long walks. I'm very easy going and animals always like me, and vice versa. I'm able to administer meds if needed since I'm a nurse and also had two diabetic cats on insulin. As for my hobbies, I love being outside in nature. I like to bike, kayak and I love photography.

Marcia is a GREAT cat sitter! She really loves cats and is extremely knowledgeable about them. I am sure she could successfully handle any type of cat. Our cat is an indoor/outdoor cat and has his own agenda. She bonded with him, kept him happy and safe, and got him in and out of the house in cold and snowy weather. She even shoveled without my asking her so he could comfortably go in and out of the house. She is dependable, kind, and flexible. I recently contacted her to ask her advice on a place to house our cat while we polyurethane the floor, and she took time to talk to me about that. I am a picky cat owner, and Marcia has exceeded all of my expectations. I am sure anyone who hires her will be happy, and feel relieved to know that their cat is cared for, safe, and in good hands!
