About Mara

Children- currently I work part time at a public library in the youth services section where I interact with children of all ages. I'm specifically in charge of teen programming, so planning activities for children ages 12 to 18. Most of my programs center around teaching crafts, but I also facilitate a volunteer program, a chess club, and a GSA. In addition to this, I have one year experience substitute teaching grades 8-12. Pets- I am very comfortable around pets. I like dogs of all sizes and I enjoy cats as well. I think bonding with animals is a very grounding and humbling experience. Currently I have three birds, two parakeets and a sun conure who are all hand trained and spend time of their cages whenever I'm home. Special Needs- I am open to working with children who have special needs. I'm a strong supporter of mental health awareness and neurodivergent visibility. In extreme cases however, I may be under-qualified. Please inquire with any questions!
