Makiya is an incredible care-giver and tutor. She has been with our family for a month and a half now. She is professional, prompt, polite, very personable and warm. She has developed a close relationship with my 6 year old boy with mild autism. Every day she comes in and writes a very thoughtful schedule which she clearly prepared prior to coming. The schedule includes playing all sorts of sports, biking, hiking and tutoring! She teaches my son every morning for 2 hours; a combination of math and reading/writing. She uses the school assignments and also assessed his weaknesses and brings in her own material to teach him. She rekindled my sons love for learning which is priceless! My son had tantrums 10 times/day when Makiya arrived. Within one week he stopped having tantrums altogether and we haven't had one since. She is incredibly skilled in working with kids with autism. I have learned so much from her. She is warm and silly and just a lot of fun to be with.
