About Maia

I'm Maia and I'm a 23-year-old preschool teacher. I started working with kids when I was 17. I started out working in daycare through a summer youth program. I'm currently in school working towards a degree in early childhood education to become a kindergarten teacher. My skills include creating activities that are fun, engaging, and educational, building trusting relationships with families and children, and having a set schedule and routine in place. One thing you should know about me is that building upon a child's social-emotional skills is very important to me. Through creating a safe, trusting environment, I let children know that their feelings are valid while also teaching skills to help them understand and effectively communicate what they're feeling. I'd describe my personality as caring, calm, and creative. In my spare time, I like to paint, cook, sing, write, or go for a nature walk.
