About Mahnaz

I wholeheartedly recommend Mahnaz as a nanny. Mahnaz cared for my daughter, Ellie, for two and a half years, from December 2020 to August 2023. We parted ways when it was time for Ellie to transition to a full-time preschool program. For Ellie, and for our family, Mahnaz was everything we could have hoped for in a nanny and more. A few things that really stand out about Mahnaz are: Her trustworthiness. Mahanz is honest and keeps her word. We have never had a single issue or concern with trusting her. She is also exceedingly reliable. She is a safe driver, always on time -- often, ahead of time -- and she never forgets a plan. Her energy, creativity, and resourcefulness. Mahanz doesn't like to sit still. In addition to taking Ellie to scheduled classes, she organized all sorts of activities for Ellie: picnics, beach days, visits to the park, long walks around the neighborhood, visits to the mall or toy stores. She was proactive in communicating with us on the few occasions that she needed help brainstorming ideas for activities for Ellie. And in those moments, we always appreciated that she was motivated to explore what would be good for Ellie's development and well-being. Her thoughtfulness. Mahnaz treated our house with the care one would treat one's own. Every morning, she tidied the couch, opened the blinds, and helped put away dishes. Without us ever asking, she regularly cleaned our coffee pods for reuse. And when she noticed how bad we are at remembering to take care of our plants, she took it upon herself to water our plants every week and change out the water in our flower vase so the flowers lasted longer. She has quite the green thumb! She's also wonderful cook and regularly prepares lavish Persian meals for large groups. We've been the beneficiaries of an array of beautifully presented and delicious foods. She really is quite talented. Her warmth and her patience. Ellie is a very secure child and a lot of credit goes to the close and constant attention that Mahnaz paid to her. This is also reflected in Ellie's verbal skills and in her ability to articulate how she is feeling. Mahnaz never tired of talking with her. Their close connection was important in nurturing Ellie's comfort with expressing herself and her feelings. Her flexibility. While Mahanz is an experienced and decisive caregiver, she is also flexible and responsive to changing preferences and needs. Since infancy, Ellie has always struggled with taking naps, especially on her own. We tried many different approaches and Mahnaz accommodated all of them. When we wanted to try sleep training, she did that. When it worked best for Ellie to nap in the car, she would take her on long drives. When we want to trying rocking Ellie to sleep, she did that. She would spend an hour rocking Ellie to sleep when that's what it took. Mahnaz genuinely loves and cares for children. We've seen firsthand how it extends beyond our own child. She is close with the child she cared for previously and sees him regularly. He's a wonderful kid and Mahnaz has organized for him and Ellie to play many times. She's truly invested in the children under her care. There's no better sign of that than the feedback we've gotten from the people in our community. We've had many people in our neighborhood mention that they thought Mahnaz was Ellie's grandmother. They noticed how much energy and attention Mahnaz pays to Ellie, and how close the two of them are. For Ellie and for our family, the hardest part of transitioning to preschool was saying goodbye to our weekdays with Mahnaz. We know she will love and care for her next family as she has loved and cared for ours.
