About Mackenzie

Hi there! I'm MacKenzie. I am a licensed special education teacher looking to step away from the profession to stay home more with my little girl. I have 5 years of special education teaching experience. During my years as a special education teacher I worked students in first through fifth grades who had various disabilities and severities. These included Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, ADHD, Dyslexia, specific learning disabilities, and behavioral disorders. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Iowa State University in 2016 with endorsements in special education and reading and my Master of Education degree this spring (2022) with an emphasis in special education. My skills include understanding grade level educational standards. My desire to create individualized plans for each student and closely monitor progress in order to make instructional adjustments. And my ability to communicate effectively.
