Kind, patient, thoughtful, and dedicated are just a few of the many possible attributes to choose from that define Lexi. Lexi spent the 2020/21 school year in our home providing educational support to our son while our local schools were virtual. She approached our son on his level and built a relationship of trust and respect. That's not easy to do with an 8-year-old boy who would rather be doing almost anything other than schoolwork. Even after the school year ended, Lexi has remained an active part of our lives. Her relationship with our family is deep and will be forever. When recently asked by a classmate who Lexi was, our son responded "she is my friend, who also used to be my teacher." If you ask me, she is "my adopted daughter." Our family would not have made it through the pandemic as successfully as we did without Lexi, and I will forever be grateful. We miss her in Buffalo already! Any family would be lucky to have Lexi as part of their support system.
