About Leah

I'm a Newborn Care Specialist for preterm infant twins. I've been caring for children since I was a child myself, babysitting my first infant at age 13. I volunteered over 1, 000 hours at a childcare center through high school and college. I have a Bachelor's degree with concentrations in Education and Spanish. I've studied child development and various attachment & parenting styles extensively. I have experience teaching Pre-K and fourth grade as well as working as a live-in nanny in Washington, DC. As a teacher and nanny, my strengths include curating learning experiences across content subjects and caring compassionately for each child. I've been motivated on my own time for further study & have read a great deal on attachment parenting, RIE, Montessori, and Waldorf. I was inspired to become a Newborn Care Specialist because those early months are so integral to secure attachment and development.
