I just wanted to take a second to tell you how wonderful Lauryn is. Having Lauryn as a nanny has been so amazing - Our little one has learned so much during her time with her and has clearly really enjoyed being with her. I was so nervous to go back to work because my son (who is 18 months) has been by my side since birth and other than my husband my son has never been in anyone else care before. My husband and I just moved to Honolulu from Virginia (PCS orders) so you can imagine we had trouble even contemplating the notion of leaving our baby with anyone other than me or my husband. However, my retum-to-work date was fast approaching, so we needed to find someone to care for our son. Enter Lauryn, who came to us by the grace of God. She is truly the complete nanny package. She is loving, caring, thoughtful, and energetic, and our son absolutely adores her. (Does he cry when we leave the house and Lauryn is there? No. Does he cry when one of us leaves the house, even if the other mom is there with him? Yes.) She engages our son intellectually, helps him practice his motor skills, and takes him on fun playground outings all on her own initiative. She also makes him delicious food, does his laundry, and helps out with whatever we need, often without even being asked. Another thing we really appreciate is that she keeps us in the loop with new things he's doing: whenever there's a new development or he's doing something particularly adorable, she takes photos and sends them to us over the course of the day. To a mom who would love to be there for everything, that's an amazing gift. I could go honestly go on and on describing other great things about our experience with Lauryn and I am beyond thankful to care.com for connecting us - the next family that gets her will be incredibly lucky.
