About Laurel Cecelia

I am a gentle, creative, and playful caregiver with an intuitive understanding of and respect for neurodiversity. I have a background in Montessori, social emotional learning, and working with neurodivergent children. I love to walk alongside children as a guide and value autonomy and freedom within safe boundaries. I'm a proponent of the 'gentle discipline/parenting' approach and take great care to encourage children to regulate big feelings on their own or with an adult. I am also comfortable and capable in the nuts and bolts aspects of childcare (meal prep, cleanup, toileting). My favorite activities to do with kiddos include engaging in imaginative play, going to museums, reading books, and wondering 'why' together. I most admire kids who march to the beat of their own drum, are deep feelers, have a lot of questions, and enjoy being creative. When I'm not working with kids, I love to treasure hunt at the thrift store and make music.
