About Laura

I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant for 24 years, receiving my certification in 1998. I worked 18 years as a CNA in 2 skilled care facilities, 2 1/2 years doing home health care both privately and through an agency, and 3 years working as an CNA in assisted living. I have experience working with many types of patients. Post operative, dementia, Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis, Huntington's, stroke patients with affected limbs, Quadra and Paraplegic's , amputees with and without prosthetics, dialysis patients, bariatric, feeding tubes, tracheotomy's, hospice patients,. I also have experience working with bed bound patients, those needing both Hoyer and sit-to-stand mechanical lifts, patients with Foley catheters, urostomy and colostomy bags, diabetics, special diets such as puréed food and thickened liquids, and those needing basic wound care. Additionally, I am certified to pass medications and administer subcutaneous injections. I am CPR certified and a pre-nursing student.
