About Laura

Hello. I am a retired public school teacher & former Teacher of the Year who has a Master's Degree in Curriculum, Instruction, Supervision, & Administration from The George Washington University. I love working with students of all ages & strongly believe that in order for anyone to learn, education must be engaging and relatable. I also hold endorsements in special education & gifted education from The University of Virginia & love to work with students of all ability levels. I'd describe my personality as funny, creative, & outgoing. I like tutoring because it gives a young person a chance to receive individualized instruction tailored to their own specific needs. I'm looking to get out & work with young folks & help them succeed in school. In my spare time, I like to participate in yoga, art, & keeping up with my 9-year-old nephew. My skills include making learning fun & relevant, involving your student in the planning process, & guaranteeing growth in school.
