I worked for 3 years in a high school life skills classroom working with students with severe disabilities. It is where I discovered my passion in life. I have also worked for three years as a special education aide. I am almost finished with my masters in Special Education Moderate Disabilities K-8. Growing up my mothers the director of a preschool. One day I volunteered there when the two main classroom teachers were out. I remember a particularly challenging child raising his hand and tell us "I like it better when you two are here not Ms. S and Ms. B. I know I'm bad, but they are mean about it, and you're still nice to me when I'm bad." Hearing a 4-year-old articulate that broke my heart and drove me to the education field. I wanted to make a difference for the kids too many deemed "hard to love" and "lost causes." I am so excited to be almost done with my special education masters so I can better help those children, and so grateful for all the ones I have already gotten to.
