About Kristen

I'd describe my personality as patient, caring and tenacious. I like tutoring, because I like to help students obtain new understanding and to help them create a new confidence in their own abilities. I'm looking for a job that allows me the opportunity to help students who are ready to learn and to assist them with the basic principles of how to learn. I started tutoring in college, but have been privately tutoring for 2 years now. I am a certified teacher with 13 years experience, and have worked with students with learning differences or those who want to get ahead in their classwork. I have loved every minute with my students! In my spare time I like to read, be outside and spend time with my granddaughters. There's more than one way to explain a concept or a problem, it's about finding the best way a student learns. My skills include breaking down difficult concepts into easier terms, and taking the time to understand the student's concerns and difficulties.
