About Kristan

I grew up having a special relationship with my grandmother and great-grandmother. They watched me everyday after school from ages 5 - 15 years old. I've always had such a special bond with elderly folks and absolutely love providing companionship, friendship and care-taking for them. I've been teaching "chair yoga" to my grandma for her arthritis and has told me how much it's been helping her feel better. My most recent care taking experience has been with my aunt's mother-in-law. She has dementia, arthritis and requires taking 15 pills a day at different times. I've stayed overnight with her (88 years old) several times while they (my aunt and uncle) have traveled for work. I've helped assist her with using the restroom, have prepared daily meals and snacks, played board games, have meaningful conversations, stretch and walk for physical therapy, bedtime preparations, singing, laughing and overall complete care. It is my passion to help care for others and fills my heart with joy!
