I had a wonderful experience as an au pair teaching Spanish to my host kids, aged 2 and 4, through games. Every day, I would plan creative activities involving Spanish words and phrases. For instance, I used memory games with cards illustrated with words in Spanish and English to teach basic vocabulary. We also sang songs in Spanish while playing simple musical instruments. I observed how the children naturally absorbed the language and had fun while learning. This experience reinforced my belief in the importance of play and interaction in language learning, and it showed me how even young children can grasp another language in a playful and stimulating way.
