I have 2 sons and 3 grandchildren. I worked as a nurse for 35 years. I am looking for part time work. I don't mind taking care of a child that has a temporary illness. I know if the parents work it is hard to find a last minute sitter. I am retired so usually available. I'm looking for a job that gives me some purpose. I started working with kids when my own children and grandchildren were born. One thing you should know about me is that I am a nurse. I am looking for something to do after retirement that gives me purpose. I remember how difficult it was to find a sitter when you work full time and your child gets the flu or an infection. Some jobs it is difficult to take a day off for these issues. Most people wouldn't take a last minute child in while sick. I was fortunate with the sitters I had. And would like to give the families a back up. My skills include caring for a sick child, knowing what to do for symptoms and knowing what drinks/food are good for a sick child.
