I cared for an 83-year-old women for 5 years. She had Congestive Heart Failure, COPD and Emphysema. I helped with personal hygiene, transportation including errands and doctor appointments, food preparation, giving medications and bedtime routine. I worked with this women up until the day she passed away. I truly enjoyed the time we spent together and all the stories she had to tell. She was always making something in the kitchen and I was always leaning new thing. The day she passed away I felt like I had lost my own grandmother. They brought me in and treated me like family.
