The day Kiana was supposed to babysit for our two children she wrote to me a few hours before she was supposed to arrive to ask if I could find a back-up babysitter because something had come up at her church and she wanted to attend. I told her on short notice I did not have a back-up babysitter, that is why I joined Care.com, to find a reliable babysitter. Kiana said okay that she would arrive on time. About 30 minutes later she wrote and said our location was 30 minutes from her house and that gas was so expensive. At this point, it seemed that she was not interested in the job. I had told her the location of the hotel, where we were staying, and the address two weeks earlier when I hired her - so she could have looked up the distance and decided at that point that it was too far for her to drive for the job. With those two messages from Kiana I canceled the job with her, I did not want someone to watch my kids who was not interested in the job. I never met her in person.
