STAY FAR AWAY!!!!!! If I could give zero stars, I would. There were a ton of issues. Before I start on why you should NOT hire Katie for childcare, there are also many lies in her profile... Just an FYI for everyone. My son is on the spectrum, lives with his mom out of state, and visits me during the summer time. It makes things very tough to find adequate care for him for daycare. Katie states on her profile that she caters to Autism Spectrum Disorder. She cannot handle any children with special needs, if this is what you are considering her for. She does not communicate well either. Ill be the first to admit that caring for someone with ASD is a tough job, so i don't expect everyone to be able to handle it. There were multiple times I had asked her if my son was being any trouble or giving any issues. She told me each time there were no issues and he was doing fine. One day half way through the day, i received a call stating she cant do it anymore and needed me to come pick up. I left work and picked him up immediately. I had got there and got his things and proceeded to leave. Once again, not my main concern. I paid her for the full day that morning and since he left early, i kindly asked if she could refund me half the day. She then goes on to tell me that she "deserves" the full day pay because of the inconveniences my son has caused. Once again, none of this was communicated to me prior to pick up and this has also been multiple days staying with her. After trying to get the money back i realized it wasnt worth it. She did send the money back after threat of bad review, but i still feel other parents need to know of the unprofessionalism she displayed and the lies posted on her profile. I communicated all potential issues to her, she stated i never communicated anything. She claimed my son had smeared poop all over her house... To which weve never had an issue with. To be honest, makes me feel she wasnt watching him adequately. I feel she just isnt used to or able to handle dealing with any children with special needs. Please do yourself a favor and do not hire Katie for your childcare.
