About Katie

My experience with children ranges from public school settings, private childcare centers, and nannying for families in the home. Most of my time caring for and teaching children has been within the age range of 3-6 years old, though I have had experience with most ages. My work in college approached learning through the methods of Reggio-Emilia, which originated in Italy. This approach places emphasis on the environment acting as a teacher as well as the classroom teacher. I believe that children are naturally smart, capable, and inquisitive. My goal as an educator and caregiver to children is to foster and hone those traits through productive experiences such as art, exploration, and play.
