I am a graduate with a Masters in Biomedical Sciences.... As my intention was to begin Veterinarian School in 2005, things changed after suffering a leg injury that led me into the care-giving field! At the time of my injury, I was working as a research assistant on campus in a medical animal laboratory (necropsy) but as a result of my injury, I was unable to continue employment with CSU. During my recovery, I became very involved with the spinal-injury community here in Fort Collins and it changed my life! Since the completion of my Masters, I have been working with children to elderly communities coping with quadriplegia, paraplegia, Alzheimer's, dementia, terminal diseases, Down Syndrome, Angelman's Syndrome, debilitating mobility, etc. I have worked in a variety of settings from large scale treatment facilities to home health care. I am very well trained in patient transferring, especially using mobility devices such as Hoyer Lifts and The Easy Pivot Patient Lifts. I am current with CPR, First Aide, Wilderness First Responder & QMAP certifications. Please note that references will be given upon request!
