About Katherine

I graduated cum laude from The University of Scranton in 2011 with a degree in Secondary Ed., English. After graduating, I served as a long term substitute teacher before deciding to attend graduate school. I enrolled in the Peace Corps Masters Internal Program at St. Michael's College in Colchester, Vermont. Aside from earning my master in TESOL, I also gained international teaching experience by serving in the Peace Corps as a TEFL teacher in Ukraine. After teaching in Ukraine, I began my career as a classroom teacher in the US. I taught in a parochial school for the past six years, teaching fourth grade for four years and eighth grade for eight years. Last year I had my first child, and after finishing the year as a full time classroom teacher, I knew that it was time for a career change. While I love being in the classroom and teaching my students, I do not have the same time to dedicate to lesson planning and professional development.
