Just because I've been a 'housekeeper' for 20+ years, I used to do mostly medical office clerk work. I been certified twice (once as a refresher course) as a phlebotomist. I LOVE helping the elderly. I would love to have you call on me, in between or combined with housekeeping, to do grocery shopping or running you to doctor appointments or just run errands. My family (two grown children) my husband (an almond rancher & retired general contractor) who tries to stay busy also, knows I have always had a special place in my heart for the elderly. I had a client who use to rely on dial-a-ride or the city bus, I would make time for her and we set up dates where I would come and do light housekeeping for her then we would go to lunch and then run as many of her errands we could in a day. Unfortunately, I lost her as she passed away. We called each other 'surrogate grandma and granddaughter'. It sounded nicer then saying she was a client and I her housekeeper. I miss those days.
