About Karida

I worked as a peer tutor for writing, math, and science, during my first 2 years of undergrad. During Autumn of 2020, I began volunteering as a K-8 reading and writing tutor virtually (then later, in-person) in different public schools in the area. The program allowed me to work one-on-one with students who were struggling building critical learning skills pre-pandemic, as well as serve as a teacher's aide in larger classrooms and facilitate study groups. I also provided supplemental fine motor skill development after school with the children I worked as a nanny for. They were under 4, so I'd curate activities that would help them build the muscles and attentional skills required later for school such as writing, cut-and-pasting, typing, and reading.
